LPL is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member firm subject to federal securities laws and the rules of the industry self-regulatory organizations which require LPL to protect client assets with the utmost care and adherence to financial protection rules.
In addition to Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) coverage protecting clients who hold cash and securities such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds in an account with EQ, LPL provides excess SIPC insurance which provides further protection to our clients accounts have additional securities protection to cover the net equity of client accounts up to an overall aggregate limit of $750 Million. This coverage is underwritten by Lloyds of London syndicates.
LPL does not offer proprietary investments products or engage in investment banking activities. This means that advisors affiliated with LPL are not pressured or influenced by LPL to sell its products.
